Weekend hike

This actually took place a couple of weeks ago, but things are crazy and I cannot keep up with everything.

We took the kiddos down to a place in Arkansas called Devils Den.  It is a beautiful National Park in the Arkansas Ozarks.  And, yes, we are guilty of slacking off since we have lived here for almost 2 years and this is our first time venturing to the Ozarks.  But, we finally made it and it was beautiful.  We had planned the whole morning.  We wanted to do paddle boats, then enjoy a hike, maybe venture into some caves.  It was going to be spectacular.  But to our surprise, the lake that was so beautifully pictured on the website was all dried up, and the caves were closed due to bat diseases.  So, we went for the hike.

The hike was great.  The first 2 feet Preston completely crashes on the ground hurting his large ego of being a big boy.  We were able to get him going again but he continued to trip (it was a clumsy day for him - we all have them) about every 10 feet. He kept going though, such a champ.  It wasn't until we were close to the top that he tripped again and did a belly/ penguin dive that scraped up his little belly that ended the picturesque hike.  Then this lucky momma carried her sad little boy down almost all the way down the little mountain.  In the end it was a good day.
