The Big 32

 

 

Matt turned 32 about 20 days ago now.  Since this blog is not just a Preston Porter shrine I better make sure I add a little matt post once in a while.  To be honest I have to keep doing the math to make sure he really is 32.  It's hard to believe that we are getting old.  I still think we are in our early 20's.  Well I have not hit 30 yet but it is still weird to me that Matt is over 30.

Matt specifically requested German Chocolate Cake for his birthday.  I couldn't get myself to just make a normal German Chocolate Cake because he requests this cake every year.  So, I reasearched for probably a month the perfect cake.  Did I succeed?  You better believe it!  I found this awesome recipe that takes German Chocolate Cake to a whole new level.  It was, in my opinion, the best gift of the whole day!  We slowly devoured the cake the rest of the week.  It made the Matt Field tribute week just a little more special.

Happy Birthday Matt!!  We love you so much!
