To start I would like to tell you about my tomato plant. This plant started small but now it is the king of all tomato plants. I didn't have a designated spot for it so I just put it in one of my flower beds thinking it would not spread too much. Well now the whole planter has been taken over by this enormous tomato plant. At first I was excited. All the blooms that were starting I had visions of tomato sandwiches, roasted tomato soup, and fresh tomato sauce dancing in my head. To my surprise the size of the tomatoes do not reflect the size of the plant. It's okay though, we will just have to eat some salads or roast our tiny little tomatoes which will probably make about 1 serving of soup. Next year we will have big tomatoes...or else!
Next. Preston has a new toy that he loves. It is sort of a strange situation how we got the toy. In March Matt unknowingly got involved in the prelims of Utah's House of Representatives election which begins with a representative from each county and Matt was going to be some sort of representative so that he could push for this Craig Powell guy who was running for the House of Representatives. It is quite a funny story actually because Matt does not follow political things very well, anyway, Preston was about 4 days old and this guy who is running for the House of Representatives called and told Matt that there was a meeting that he needed to attend and he needed to present a little speech that explained why he would make a good candidate. Well Matt went to the meeting not really knowing what to do and when they had him stand up to give his little speech he really had nothing to say. Anyway he ended up voting for the other guy running, which is probably a good thing since he didn't even know what he was being voted into and this guy gave us a toy as a thank you. Sorry for the long story but it is quite entertaining. Well Preston loves this toy he just sits and watches the balls pop up. Honestly he could watch it for hours I think.
On another note. My poor little baby has his first ear infection and I have to force feed him this peptobismal looking medicine which he hates. I also can't forget to mention that he is now 16 pounds. The other day I was out shopping and I was somewhat sad when an old lady said that he was a husky fella and then another girl introduced me to her son who was 2 and weighs 18 pounds. What can I say, he likes food.
Last but not least. I went to my Mom's house and we made strawberry jam. It was my first time making jam and it was so easy. I will now be stocked up on jam until the melenium.
