Preston has arrived

Tonight at 9:03 pm, Preston was born and he is no small child! Amy was induced at 7:00 am Friday morning and had dilated to a 6. After 3 hours stuck at a 6 dilation - and the baby's head not lowering any further - the doctor opted to do a c-section as opposed to waiting and then possibly having an emergency c-section later.

I couldn't believe how fast everything happened once they decided to do the c-section....within 5 minutes of starting the c-section we had a baby. Preston is a healthy 9.4 pound boy, 20.5 inches long and according to a nurse - he has the biggest head circumference of a baby that she has seen. Lots of brains!

After delivering the baby - the doctor said that he felt fairly confident that the baby never would have come normally.

As for Amy - she is doing well. Obviously really tired and some incision pains. She also really wishes she could graduate from the popsicle and jello diet she is restricted to for now. She just enjoyed a delicious leftover green St Patty's day jello.

I think we beat you, by a few hours. Take a look at our labor and our baby girl, but you have to promise you won't be jealous.
