October

This month has gone so fast and I didn't realize that I had some things to share.  First of all we are now owners of a BB Gun.  After a pesky woodpecker problem Matt decided to take things into his own hands and go and buy something to protect our precious wood on our house.  After a brief tutorial on the safety and use of said bb gun, he and Preston sat up in the "birds nest" of the swing set waiting for the woodpecker to show his face...or beak.  No such luck that day but we did get some good target practice in.

Update on the woodpecker.  After hearing him peck away and Matt being at work, I decided to take a shot and get rid of the problem once and for all.  I did the sneak up tactic and took a shot.  Unfortunately, he got away and flew into a nearby tree across the street (a vacant field I might add) where I sadly must say I unloaded my fury on the creature (I really only shot at it 3 times).  Although realistically I doubt I touched the bird (have to say that for PITA) but he has not come back since.  Ok, so we sprayed the wood with bug killer and filled in the ginormous holes that the bird made on the wood pillars, so I guess you could technically say that is why. But I like to think that I maybe I got him.

I also attempted my first craft of the year or maybe first craft in several years.  Which was only supposed to take 30 minutes at our wards Super Saturday.  It ended up taking me that plus another 3 hours at my friends house and another hour or 2 at home finishing it up.  Crafting is not my specialty. Am I proud of this banner...you betch ya. Am I going to leave it up possibly until next Halloween...debating.

Pumpkin carving with Preston.  His first time carving a pumpkin and it was hilarious.  Of course he wanted the "cut tool" the whole time but when he saw what was inside the pumpkin and touched it, he was done with pumpkin carving.  He wanted nothing to do with that in his words "dirty".  But he is very happy with the outcome.

And last.  Preston's school Halloween parade.  He was so funny in his "yo ho" costume (Pirate for those who don't speak Preston)  He kept waving like he was in Miss America pageant.  I especially liked the treat that they gave him. (I love living in the Bible Belt, everything is just a little more spiritual).
