Cow Dung Run

It was Matt's second race of the season and he did pretty well. He got a bad start (which seems to be happening too often) but he pushed hard and ended up 4th in his class.

We had a nice little set up for the race thanks to D.R. Field Enterprises and D.R. Field himself came to help support his riders. It's nice having Dave here now because he is a better Pit manager than me.
The whole ordeal was an interesting experience though. I was excited to not have to camp in a tent because we did that before with Preston when he was about 3 months old and it didn't work out very well. I was very hopeful that this would be different. It was but the whole sleeping thing didn't work out very well. We couldn't figure out the heat in the trailer so we bundled up and put Preston in his crib and just hoped he would fall asleep. Nope. Preston screamed bloody murder so I brought him in bed with Matt and I where he actually fell asleep but he woke up about 3 times because it was so cold and I stayed awake most of the night because Preston and Matt were hogging the whole bed! Not to mention waking up to ice on your blankets and above your bed. We made it though, no frost bite, no colds.

sounds pretty intense. Hopefully you have thawed out by now and Preston can sleep in his own bed.

Wow - makes me sad that I didn't get to be there!
