Preston and Daddy adventures

While I sat in the hospital swooning over little Porter I would receive pictures from Matt of things that him and Preston were doing.  They had fun but I still wouldn't trade it for getting to snuggle my newest love.  But it makes me so happy to see the 2 of them enjoying some together time.

He looks miserable without me.

Daddy took him to his favorite place...Jump Zone!

Sometimes I think he likes his brother...

And sometimes I wonder what in the world I was thinking!!

Preston is putting his toy shotgun that he got for Christmas from his gun-loving papa pia.

My first day back at home.  Matt was playing bubbles with Preston on the front porch while I showered.  All of a sudden Matt comes running into the bathroom covering Preston's forehead with his hand telling me he fell right on the edge of the brick and it was bleeding bad.  I get out as fast I can but Matt is already trying to make his way to the hospital.  (ps. he was in the car and opened the garage and immediately started backing out of the garage before the door opened...you can only imagine how well that went)  I could only imagine how awful Preston would be at the doctor because he was hysterical at home.  To my surprise I received these happy pictures as proof that he was so well behaved and completely calm.  Way to go Preston! Now what to do about that garage door...

This is from a University of Arkansas game that we went to with Matt's mom and sister back in the fall.  I had not documented the cuteness so I thought I better add it to the collection.  GO PIG SOOIE!! GO HOGS!

Welcome Porter!

On Friday, December 30, 2011 Porter Jacob Field made his first appearance at 7:30 am.  He weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and according to the pediatrician is 21 inches long, but according to the hospital he was 19 inches long.  I will go with 20.  He was placed close enough to kiss and then taken away by the nurses until I was out of recovery. An emotional moment but exciting to finally see his sweet face.  The 2nd time I got to see Porter was behind glass as they wheeled me past the nursery and propped him up for me to see.  Porter had fluid in his lungs that was slowly working its way out and finally 6 hours after being born Matt and I were finally able to hold him.  It was a long 6 hours and I think Matt was being the most impatient of all, surprisingly, because the Field boy's are known for their patience. ;)  He is a sweet little baby and we all love him so much!

Preston loves his baby brother and always wants to hold "my little guy" (that is what he calls Porter).  He constantly wants to hug and kiss him. On the other hand, I think he is trying to find ways for attention which has resulted in numerous melt downs and temper tantrums.  He is learning and so are we on how to deal with the new addition.
