I am not going to pretend for one minute that everything in this household is perfect. My boys are not easy for me. We have bouncy balls crashing into the walls knocking off pictures and denting the floors, we have cars being driven all over the walls, and every drawer is Porter's drawer of "toys", dinner time is chaos, and lunchtime is spent cleaning up spilled water or food thrown onto the ground. My clothes in the closet provide the perfect hiding spots, my makeup is the ultimate artists' supplies and my kitchen, oh boy my kitchen is their playground . The furniture is a trampoline, and mom's schedule consists ONLY of playing with my little boys. I spend my morning consoling a little boy that wakes up grumpy every morning and we spend our nights wrestling them as I brush their teeth and put jammies on.
Although being a mother is not an easy job, I always feel so blessed at the end of the day when we read our stories or they fall asleep in my arms. As I sit there and hold one of my rambunctiously wild little rascal for a brief moment they are being still and peaceful and I think back of when I used to be able to hold them and rock them as a little baby and I am reminded of what is most important. There is whining, complaining, fighting, tantrums all day, disobeying, and lots and lots of chaos, but there is also big hugs, bouquets of dandelions, kisses, funny conversations and lots of playing.
I love those little boys more than anything and I am happy that they came to me.

Now for the celebrations.
This Mother's day Matt surprised me with a cupcake pinata. It was totally unexpected and extremely hilarious. We started out the morning whacking at a cupcake that was completely unbreakable. The boys hit at for a while and then I took a few/several lousy whacks at it and the stubborn thing would not bust open. Matt then took a few tries and finally got something to come out. To my surprise it was full of some of my favorite things. Probably the best Pinata I have seen.
Matt slaved over a hot oven making some delicious Cinnamon Sugar muffins with fresh berries. He claims he can't cook or bake but then he whips these little things up and they are out of this world!
As usual Matt made my day extra special and I am very happy to have him around.
