With two funerals to attend in a 3 week time period we ended up taking two quick trips to Utah. Our first trip we played with cousins, went bowling, walked around temple square visitors center and conference center, and toured Mrs. Cavenoughs chocolate factory. On our way home we thought we should break up the trip so we stayed the night in Vegas. We walked around part of the Strip with Preston and Porter and they became completely love struck over all the goodies in M&M World. We couldn't get out of that place without bringing home a souvenir. Now they both have their own M&M dispenser proudly displayed on their dresser. The boys also enjoyed seeing their papa pia and grandma and ghost - we must not forget about Ghost! Grandma spent her mornings cooking with the boys and going on hikes in search of BYU sticks. They also liked taking Ghost for a walk even though Ghost has no idea how to walk. I love that grandma will drop everything to entertain these boys! And they think she is pretty spectacular, too. They also were given the Field Household gun tour. Papa gave the boys very detailed instructions on how to use all of his guns, and now they think Papa is a gun expert and has the most bullets in the world.
I don't know if you can tell, but if music is playing Preston has a really, really, REALLY hard time sitting still. His body just automatically starts a moving and a shaking. So in all the pictures you see crazy poses, know this, music was being playing and that means the boys has to dance!

The second visit Preston and Porter were able to gather eggs from grandma's neighbor's house. The chicken wouldn't move and we were all a little hesitant to put our hand underneath a pecking chicken so we had to take extreme measures and push it out of the way with a shovel. Gently, very very gently of course. Preston befriended a horse (his new best buddy) while Porter was busy running around dropping all the eggs that we had gathered. The view in Heber is pretty spectacular. It makes me miss it s little... Until the winters. But still, wow, this view is kind of bewitching. It was so nice to take walks outside that didn't leave you dripping with sweat. The cool mountain air was such a nice refuge from the blistering Arizona sunshine. I love watching my energetic boys running around chasing Ghost, and gathering leaves of every kind, racing daddy and Ghost, and just being able to enjoy themselves.
Lately, Preston has taken his BYU fan-ship to an extreme, so we thought we should take him on a tour of the campus. We started it out right with some good old fashioned Brick Oven Pizza and root beer. Matt and Grandma then walked us all over campus showing us non-byu'ers all the amazing buildings. Preston was impressed and is now working extra hard in school so he can go there. I hope his dream to be a cougar will happen. He seems so attached to that school because that is where is hero (his daddy) went. We couldn't leave campus without making a BYU apparel purchase. So, now our boys are properly equipped to show off their BYU pride!
Both boys were less than excited to attend another funeral. Their behavior was also less than impressive and after a nice bit of begging they got their way and they went shooting with Papa-pia instead. They will clarify with you if you ask them that they went to go shooting with papa, but the guns were too heavy for them so they just watched him. They also gathered the shotgun shells and what do you think Preston has now decorated his room with? Papa's shotgun shells. He is very proud of those empty cases.
OUr last adventure for the weekend was taking Uncle Jake's boat out on Dear Creek. It was not super hot outside and the water was quite frigid to us Arizona acclimated peeps. Somehow we all made it in despite the heart stopping water temperature. The boys had fun on the tube with Nicole. (Preston liked it a little less than our adventure seeking Porter) Matt and I both tried out the wake board, which was a lot harder than I remember and my body was aching for days afterwards, too. Getting old stinks! It is so fun to see all these fun people. They treat us pretty well.

A quick stop at Aunt Rachel's to see Forrest and Darcy. We were also welcomed by an outstanding Forrest Dance Number. (my personal favorite)
