Big Week

This week started off with Matt's 31st birthday. Happy Birthday Matt!! Since it was a long weekend for his birthday we decided to go to St. Louis for a little trip. We toured the so called "Gateway" city, saw the Arch for the first time - quite impressive - and went to the zoo.

riding the choo choo at the zoo.  A must.

You know I think if Preston had his way he would live at the zoo.  I honestly think it is his most favorite place to be.

Matt thought Preston needed to get a "roar" on his cheek. And he did, and he loved it, and it lasted about 15 minutes.

Besides Matt turning 31 we also had a big event for our little 3 year old. Preston went to his first day of Preschool. He was a major grump getting him into the car and on the drive there and refused to wear his backpack for the picture, the fact that I got a picture without him and his grumpy face was something for me to be proud of, but as soon as he saw other kids walking in like big kids without throwing a fit he shaped right up and walked right in. Never looking back. Although I have been waiting very anxiously for this day, I can't lie, I did have tears in my eyes as I walked away. Preston is and will always be my baby and to see him walking in to his little classroom and seing his name on a little cubby made me realize that he is growing up.
The first thing he said when he came running out of his classroom -giving me a hug I might add - was "me pee pee", the second thing he said to me with a very big concerned look on his face as he throws his arms down to his sides, "No Em'ma, no Ecky, no Pia". Poor little guy thought his 3 favorite people in the whole wide world would for some reason be in his preschool class.
He seems to like it, and hopefully will learn something from it.

Preston was a little happier getting ready for school on his second day.

And just because I had not shared these pictures.  Last weekend we went down to the fair days in Rogers and took Preston on a train ride, which he slept on for most of the trip.  But he loved waiting for it. And then we enjoyed some delicious southern bbq chicken.

Potty Trained!!

He did it! Last week Preston and I embarked on a potty training adventure. I dreaded this momemt but with the right material and lots of bribary 3 days later Preston entered big boyhood. I was actually suprised how well he did and even now how well he keeps doing. He has not had a single accident since day 3 of potty training boot camp. What an amazing little man! During the process Preston went to the store and picked out 2 toys that he really wanted. The first one he picked out was a set of tea cups (to Matt's dismay) but he changed his mind when his attention was drawn to a Play Doh Ice Cream maker set. He had to go all day with telling me he had to go potty to get it and wow was he ever motivated. The second toy was a Lego fire truck. If he would do his other business (this was Matt's bribe to him) for 3 days no accidents his mouskadad would buy that for him. From that moment on Preston was on a mission for that fire truck. And voila we have succeeded in potty training.
